“As we were kids, running underneath the cherry trees in our grandma’s garden, the fallen cherries always used to stick to our feet. As we’re growing older now it seems like not much has changed. By going back to our childhood, reliving the things we used to do as kids, and capturing our daily life now, we want to explore our relationship as twin sisters and what it means to always have shared our lives with one another. Both being lens-based artists, we’re combining our practices and using our cameras to capture the moments that make this journey ours.

This project is about our journey as twin sisters, from our childhood to present, and how we continue to grow towards each other, becoming young adults.”

THE CHERRIES STILL STICK TO OUR FEET
The Cherries Still Stick to Our Feet is a collaboration that Chiara made with her twin sister, Rachele, who’s a photographer herself. It’s a continuation of both their previous projects, that also talks about their relationship.

For this project, Chiara made a video-installation that shows us childhood memories she has with her sister. These images were shot on Super 8 and the video is accompanied with photographic works that her sister took.
